Why Moisture-Resistant Skirting Boards Matter
Standard MDF absorbs moisture, swells at edges, and splits when screws are fitted. Our moisture-resistant MDF (medium-density fibreboard) contains additives that resist humidity in bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms. Select from heights between 70mm and 400mm, thicknesses from 15mm to 30mm, and lengths of 3050mm or 4200mm. Longer boards mean fewer joints. Thicker profiles suit period properties where proportions need balancing.
Choose your finish before delivery: primed ready for topcoat, undercoated for faster project completion, or matte grey for contemporary interiors. Rebated boards accommodate central heating pipes, radiator feeds or cables – the hollow channel runs the full length behind the face and can be tailored to size.

Boards ordered primed receive multiple hand-sanded coats from our in-house finisher, then pass through a denibbing machine for a smooth surface ready for your final paint.

In order to fit skirting boards and attain a professional finish, we recommend the following tools and materials:

Our primed finish is simply a single coat of primer applied to the skirting. Choosing this option is cheaper than choosing undercoated but may require further preparation before applying your final top coat finish.
Our undercoated finish is an undercoat applied on top of the primer coat - a ready to paint, 2 stage finish. It's slightly more expensive than the primed option but will save you more time during installation and decoration.

We certainly do! All of our designs are available as a deep skirting board - simply choose the 25mm thickness option on the product page. We can also offer 30mm thickness (and higher) as bespoke options.
On the other hand, we also offer thin skirting boards - many of our designs are available in a 15mm thickness which allows a slimmer profile compares to the standard 18mm thick boards.
