Not actually sure why you'd need one or what makes it different from a normal internal door? Here's what you need to know:
A fire door is simply a door that is resistant to fire.
They are used in both residential and commercial properties to help slow down the spread of fire by containing it for as long as possible. This offers occupants more time to escape via alternative routes which may have otherwise been unavailable.
In most normal homes, using a fire rated door in place of a normal door is personal preference. However, guidelines are becoming more strict with newer homes and some architects can stipulate them as a requirement.
It's always better to be safe than sorry, so we recommend using a fire door for a room that could potentially become the source of a fire (such as the kitchen).
In some buildings, they are a legal requirement (normally flats and commercial buildings).
No matter what type of interior you have, a fire door can perfectly tie in with the rooms aesthetic thanks to our comprehensive range.
Choose from contemporary styles in a brilliant white finish or a more traditional door finished in Oak.
We offer multiple widths including the commonly used 686mm (27"), 762mm (30") and 838mm (33"). Our FD30 rated doors are 44mm thick and our FD60 rated doors are 54mm thick (standard doors are normally 35mm thick).
