Why Moisture-Resistant Skirting Boards Matter
Standard MDF absorbs moisture, swells at edges, and splits when screws are fitted. Our moisture-resistant MDF (medium-density fibreboard) contains additives that resist humidity in bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms. The denser composition machines cleanly – profiles stay crisp, edges don't fray, and primer adheres evenly - the smart choice for the modern British home.
Our high-density MDF eliminates the knots, splits and grain variations found in softwood skirtings. You get consistent dimensions across every length, which means mitres close properly and joints stay tight. The smooth surface takes paint without filling or excessive sanding.
Made To Your Specifications
Select from heights between 70mm and 400mm, thicknesses from 15mm to 30mm, and lengths of 3050mm or 4200mm. Longer boards mean fewer joints. Thicker profiles suit period properties where proportions need balancing.
Choose your finish before delivery: primed ready for topcoat, undercoated for faster project completion, or matte grey for contemporary interiors. Rebated boards accommodate central heating pipes, radiator feeds or cables – the hollow channel runs the full length behind the face and can be tailored to size.

Every board starts as a full MDF sheet, inspected for impurities before cutting. Our CNC moulding machines profile each length to precise specifications – the same design comes out identical whether you order today or next year. Boards ordered primed receive multiple hand-sanded coats from our in-house finisher, then pass through a denibbing machine for a smooth surface ready for your final paint.
