170mm Skirting Boards

Yes - 170mm is one of our standard MDF skirting board heights, available across every profile we make, from contemporary Bullnose and Square through to traditional Ogee and Torus. Our standard heights run from 70mm up to 400mm, and at 170mm you're at the taller end, which is why it's a popular choice for period homes and rooms with higher ceilings.

170mm is about 6¾ inches (6.69 inches). Skirting is often searched for in imperial, so it's worth knowing that a "7 inch skirting board" is roughly 178mm - our 170mm board is the closest standard size just below that, with our 195mm board sitting just above. If you need an exact imperial measurement, we can cut bespoke heights to order.

Taller skirting suits rooms with higher ceilings, hallways, and period or Victorian and Edwardian properties where a short board can look out of proportion. The extra height covers more wall, hides pipework and uneven plaster lines, and gives a more substantial, characterful finish. In smaller rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings, a 120-145mm board often sits more comfortably.

Our 170mm skirting boards come in 15mm, 18mm and 25mm thicknesses, and in 3050mm and 4200mm lengths - longer boards mean fewer joints and a cleaner run. Choose from unprimed, primed, undercoated or fully finished. Prefer real timber to MDF? Our Pine range runs to a closely matched 169mm.
