The Home Of Skirting Boards And Architrave
We are a company based in Birmingham in the UK and we deliver skirting boards and architrave all over the country. We provide you with the cheapest quotations without compromising on quality - here at Skirting World we take pride in our work. With a huge range of profile designs and a wide selection of sizes, we have everything to suit your needs - from a piece of fancy skirting board to a bulk order of MDF skirting boards.
Why Choose MDF Skirting Boards?
MDF has quickly become the standard material to use for skirting boards throughout the UK. A skirting board made from MDF is free of impurities and will last much longer than your average softwood skirting boards. Should you need a skirting board that is moisture resistant, we offer the superior HDF material in 4200mm lengths (5400mm selected range) at competitive prices. All of our skirting boards have a matching architrave so you can have a consistent look throughout your home. If you have any questions regarding our products on offer, do not hesitate to get in touch with our friendly team here at Skirting World.
We use only the best quality materials including MDF, HDF and Pine and we custom make all of our products to order. If you're looking for skirting boards and architraves at the best prices on the web, look no further than mdfskirtingworld.co.uk.
Skirting World Take Pride In Their Work...
Not only do we make sure that all of our materials are sourced responsibly and are of the highest quality possible, our manufacturing process is just as important. Our specialist team take the MDF through it's transformation from a sheet to skirting boards (or architraves) from start to finish. The sheets are inspected for impurities and then cut down to the intended size (height of the skirting boards, width of architraves, etc.). Once this has been completed, one of our machinists run the board through our moulding machine or spindle to cut away the chosen design. Another visual inspection is made before the boards are passed to the spray room where our in house french polisher applies to layers of primer to the skirting (if ordered as primed). The boards are hand sanded between coats and once fully dry, a denibbing machine is used to make the finished product smooth and ready for a final layer of paint.
Before wrapping ready for transport, another visual inspection takes place. Once our team are happy with the finished products, the wrapping team use cardboard edge protection and shrink wrap to ensure they are secure and ready to be loaded to the van for delivery. And voila! You will receive your order and can install it straight away. Don't forget - match your skirting boards with your architraves by choosing the same design (it'll look great!).
When it comes to skirting board designs, we have a lot to offer. We also provide a bespoke service if you need something extra special.

FAQ

You've got questions and we've got answers. How tall can you make a skirting board? Can you get matching architrave? How long are the skirting boards? The Skirting World team have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions and answered them all right here. Have a look below for more information. If there's anything we've missed, feel free to let us know.

Does the profile / design change size as the height and width of the skirting board and architrave change?

No. The design always stays the same no matter what size the skirting boards or architraves are. For example - if the design is 50mm on a 70mm board, the design will be 50mm on a 250mm board.

What size is the standard rebate?

Our rebate is 20mm x 12mm as standard. However, we can do this to a size to suit you.

Are all the materials moisture resistant?

No. HDF is the only moisture resistant material we offer.

What's the most commonly used / purchased thickness for skirting and architrave?

We generally find that 18mm is the most common thickness purchased from ourselves.

How quickly can I receive my order?

Our standard delivery is within 3 - 5 working days. Our Super Fast delivery option is within 2 days! See all of our delivery options here.

I want to return something. Can I do that?

If the product is faulty - we will arrange to collect the goods and replace them as quickly as possible.

If you do not like the product - we can take the goods back but you will be charged for the collection of the goods and you will only receive 50% of the material costs back as we take a 50% restocking fee to recover some of the costs.

How is the skirting and architrave packaged?

To reduce the risk of the skirting boards and architraves being damaged during transit, we put cardboard edge protection on all sides of the package and then tightly shrink wrap them. This ensures that they reach you in the same condition that we dispatch them.

What is the longest length of skirting board I can buy from Skirting World?

For the majority of our range, the longest length in MDF is 3050mm and the longest length in HDF is 4200mm. In Pine we are able to produce skirting in lengths up to 5400mm (depedning on material stock we have at the time of order).

We have also introduced a range of HDF 5400mm lengths in 4 of the most commonly used profiles.
